What Is Proxy Service?
A proxy service is like the middleman in a relationship. It's not that they're not good enough to be with the object of their affection; they don't have time for all the drama, and if you love them, you'll understand why. A proxy service is there to do your bidding to ensure you get what you need and don't have to worry about anything else. A proxy service can also be used as a firewall to protect your computer from malicious threats by filtering out intrusions. A proxy service is an intermediary between your computer and the rest of the internet. It works essentially as a traffic cop that filters requests to ensure that no dangerous traffic creeps in by applying strict routing rules and boosting the system's performance. When you request something from a website, like a Web page, your browser sends a request to a proxy server. The proxy server looks at this request and decides whether it should be allowed. If it's allowed, then the page will be returned. If it's not allowed, then it will be blocked. It is because some websites are designed with malicious intent – they're designed to steal your personal information or infect your computer with malware or viruses. The proxy server can also cache pages, so if you revisit those same pages later on down the road, they won't have to be downloaded again from scratch; instead, they'll just be pulled from memory! Proxy services are mainly of two types forward proxy and reverse proxy. A forward proxy is an Internet-facing proxy used to retrieve various sources. A reverse proxy is mainly used for the protection and security of the server. It includes tasks like caching, authentication and decryption. The primary purpose of forwarding proxies is to present a single IP address on behalf of many computers in a network. The purpose of reverse proxies is to protect resources from unauthorized access.
