What Is Paravirtualization?
Paravirtualization is like a virtual reality that's not real, but it's so good you'll think it is. Paravirtualization lets you run Linux on a Mac without having to reburn the operating system or change your computer. It's a way of running an operating system in a virtual machine that allows you to have multiple virtual machines running simultaneously, each with its operating system and software that doesn't require any specialized hardware. It gives the guest operating system (the one running inside the VM) an interface similar to its underlying hardware. Even if the virtual machine monitor (VMM) isn't tailored for your specific machine, you can still get it up and running without tweaking anything. Paravirtualization is like a vacation from your operating system. It's like taking a break from your standard, everyday operating system to go on an exotic trip where you get to use all kinds of new features, and it comes with unlimited access to fresh fruit smoothies. Paravirtualization lets you run multiple operating systems on one machine without worrying about how much memory or processing power they use because they share resources! It's a dream come true for people who want to play around with different operating systems without buying another computer or taking time away from their current machine. Even run Windows and Linux at the same time! Paravirtualization is a faster, better way to scale up. If you've been running your cloud servers on virtualization, you know it's not the easiest thing to do. So you have to worry about things like host CPU and memory availability, which means you end up with more hardware than you need and less flexibility in how you use it. With paravirtualization, however, you can focus on your applications and let the hardware take care of itself. It's a much easier method for scaling up, and it has many performance advantages as well.
