What Is Netscape Navigator?
In the early days of the Internet, there was no such thing as a Web browser. People had to use text-based browsers to navigate through the World Wide Web. Of course, this was before Marc Andreessen came with his vision to make the World Wide Web easier for people. Andreessen was part of a team that created Netscape Navigator, one of the first commercially successful desktop browsers. It was based on Mosaic and allowed users to navigate through web pages by clicking links rather than typing in addresses manually, as they had with other text-based browsers at the time. With Netscape Navigator, users could quickly jump from one page to another and, even more importantly, view graphics and photos on those pages instead of just plain text! It made browsing much more enjoyable for people who wanted to avoid reading through endless blocks of text whenever they wanted to find something online. It also helped influence the development of other browsers like Internet Explorer (which came out soon after Netscape Navigator) because it showed everyone how popular graphical interfaces were becoming on computers during this period! It's no secret that Microsoft is a tech giant, But it's also no secret that it was only sometimes the most popular company in the world. One of its biggest competitors was Netscape, which dominated the consumer market with its web browser Navigator. In the early 1990s, Microsoft realized how big Netscape impacted its business and began acting. They understood they had to do something about it, but what? They were already dominating the market for operating systems for computers, so why not try to get into the browser business? They did that when they released Internet Explorer in 1995 and followed up with Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) in 1998. These moves helped them become one of the most successful companies in history!
