What Is Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS)?
A Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) is like a bodyguard for your computer. It's always on the lookout for suspicious activity and will jump into action if it sees anything fishy. Think of it as a club bouncer but for your computer's security. HIPS works by constantly monitoring your computer's behavior and comparing it to predefined rules or "policies." If it detects anything that doesn't match up with what it's supposed to be doing, it will take action to block or quarantine the threat.
