What Is Facebook Stalking?
Facebook stalking is the best kind of stalking. You know, the kind that doesn't involve hiding in bushes or breaking into people's houses. It's just watching from the comfort of your home and ensuring you get all the details about someone's life. Because who doesn't want to know what their ex-boyfriend/girlfriend is up to? Or see photos of that person's new partner? Or maybe catch a glimpse of what they look like now, so you can compare it to your memories and see how much they've changed over time. The only thing better than Facebook stalking is doing it with someone else! That way, you get to share all those juicy details with another person—maybe even one who has been through similar experiences with this person in question. Facebook stalking is a serious problem that can lead to much pain and suffering for the victim. Stalkers can be found anywhere, including on Facebook. While there are no clear-cut ways to spot a stalker on Facebook, there are some signs you can look out for that may indicate that you have a stalker in your life. For example, suppose you are getting updates from friends. In that case, you never interact with them on Facebook, or if they are commenting on old photos, this could be a tipoff that they are systematically going through all of your archived images. Facebook is not the only place to find yourself in the middle of a cat-and-mouse game. If you're on any dating app, whether it's Tinder or Grindr, chances are you've seen them: those "stalker apps" that claim they can tell you who has been viewing your profile. In reality, these apps are often phishing scams that aim to gain access to users' profiles and personal information—which is precisely why Facebook has begun blocking them from its platform. These stalker apps have circulated on Facebook for some time, but Facebook recently announced that it would be taking action against them. TechCrunch says Facebook "will remove all content related to this scam from our platform." If this happens to you, it's important to tell someone immediately so they can help you out of this situation as soon as possible!
