What Is Tablet PC?
You see them everywhere, called tablet PCs, taking the computer industry by storm. If you've never heard of a tablet PC, get ready; here's everything you need to know about this new portable computer sensation! A tablet PC combines the functionality of a smartphone and a notebook computer. With multitasking capabilities and access to thousands of apps, your tablet PC has the power to adapt to your lifestyle and needs. Tablets such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 have touchscreen displays and run Windows to use them for work. You're on holiday, so you don't need to spend your time working. Do you want to play games or watch movies during those long flights? Unfortunately, many tablets must be better suited for monitoring the content because of their small screens and lack of built-in speakers. These devices can be used anywhere, anytime and are often used on the go with ease, as they are lightweight and portable; tablet PCs are available with different operating systems, such as Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Android, etc. On the hardware front, tablets are powered by low-voltage processors, have ample storage capacity and RAM for smooth performance, have front and rear cameras for video conferencing, and offer multiple connectivity options like cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. Most tablet PCs measure less than 10 inches diagonally, making them small enough to fit into a purse or briefcase. These miniature devices run Microsoft Windows 7 or higher and are powered by Intel "Ivy Bridge" processors. A tablet PC is a laptop hybrid that combines a PDA's functionality with a notebook's convenience and power. Although the tablet computer shares a similar form factor, it's much more prominent and often uses detachable keyboards for input. Tablet PCs are also more potent than PDAs but lack some of their capabilities, such as wireless connectivity.
