No initial budget is required for hardware installation or IT staff so SMBs can get started with cloud storage quickly and easily. SaaS is also marketed as an excellent technique to mitigate risks in disaster recovery by providing long-term data storage and enhancing business stability.

SHA-3 competition to develop a new secure hash algorithm was held by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) in 2007.
