What Is Printer Sharing?
You know that feeling when you walk into a room and see a printer? Do you feel the urge to throw it out the window? If you do, we've got good news: there's an easy way to share your printer with everyone on your network. The process is called "printer sharing," allowing multiple computers and devices connected to the same network to access one or more printers. Each node or device on the web can print to any shared printer and make changes to the printer settings, depending on permissions set by the administrator for each user. Printer sharing allows multiple computers and devices connected to the same network to access one or more printers. Each node or device on the web can print any shared printer, to some extent, make changes to the printer settings, depending on the permissions set by the administrator for each user. The benefits of printer sharing are apparent: it saves money by buying fewer printers and reduces clutter by having all your printers in one place. It also makes it easier for users needing a printer to find one available anytime. You can set up printer sharing through Windows native tools or third-party apps. You can share a printer by attaching it to a computer that supports printer sharing. You can use the printer from other computers on the same network when the printer is shared. It doesn't matter whether the shared printer is old or new. That computer can share it as long as it's appropriately installed on one computer. Sharing is facilitated by the OS, which handles communication between computers and devices, the network between them and the printer itself. When a print request is sent from a networked computer, this is received by the computer where the shared printer is attached. This host computer initializes the printer and then sends the print job. Unfortunately, retrieving actual printouts still has to be done manually by whoever initiated the print job.
