What Is Friend Assembly?
Did you ever have a friend that was just so good at everything? Hey, don't you say no! There is always someone who does things for you. Something like they were always there for you, knew how to make you feel better, and could get into any party. See, we told you there is always one such friend that is the one guy who fixes all problems for you. They were the perfect friend. It's like they had some magic power to swoop in and fix your problems, and they didn't even have to be there! Well, guess what? You can make these kinds of friends with assemblies in C#! A friend assembly is used when there's a need to access internal classes or members in one assembly from another specific assembly. It enables two specific assemblies to share members or functionality without making them public. Friend assemblies are like the cool kid in school who has many friends and is always trying to hang out with them. The friend assembly is that friend you want to hang out with because they're fun and exciting to talk to. They can make a huge difference in your life by introducing you to new people and ideas. You might even learn something from them! Friend assemblies can be used in unit testing where the assembly underlying the test code needs to access the members marked as internal in the assembly to be tested. It helps develop class libraries that require additions contained in separate assemblies which need to access members in existing assemblies. So, next time you want to go back home after a night out with your friends and tell them all about it but don't want everyone else at the party to know about it, use a friend assembly!
