What Is Cyberslacker?
Someone who uses their work computer for things irrelevant to their job, such as visiting social networking sites, doing online shopping, or even playing video games, is known as a "cyberslacker." It's like taking a vacation from work to have fun online. Cyberslacking may involve "bandwidth." Imagine this situation as similar to a highway: the more vehicles (or data) there, the more slowly things will move. If you use a significant amount of bandwidth for activities unrelated to work, you may be slowing down the network for everyone else. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of how much bandwidth you are using and to only take up some of the available resources! Another phrase that should be familiar to you is "productivity." It's like getting something done. It would be best if you strived to accomplish what must be done while you're at work so your time there is not wasted. However, if you spend all of your time on Facebook, then you are not being productive with your time. It's similar to stopping what you're doing to work on a project to do something else for a while, but the key is to ensure that you return to work and finish what you started. Let's move on to "internet filters," shall we? It is the same as having a teacher watch what you do while you are in class. Your company may use internet filters to prevent you from accessing websites inappropriate for the workplace, just as a teacher may block websites irrelevant to a taught topic. The purpose is to keep you focused on your job, but it might not be enjoyable if you want to check your email or listen to music during your lunch break. The idea is to keep you focused on your work.
