What Is Browser Modifier?
Browser modifiers are sneaky little things. They're not a virus, so don't go running for the anti-virus software—but they can wreak havoc on your computer. Browser modifiers are installed when users inadvertently click pop-up messages without reading the content that explains how to cancel the pop-up. Once installed, they modify your browser settings and redirect you to other websites. The best way to avoid getting browser modifiers is to read everything you see online before clicking anything. If something seems fishy, don't click it! It is always recommended to close the pop-up immediately, as these pop-ups are mainly used to collect personal information such as email addresses, credit card details, and other sensitive information. If you have unknowingly provided your personal information to the malicious website, you must immediately change your online passwords and enable two-factor authentication for added security. Sometimes, you may provide a "fake" opt-out option for some software or service. It is a trick - do not click it. Opt-out choices are usually there to trick you. Browser modifiers are a plague on the internet. They're like an infection that spread from one website to another, and now they're everywhere. You might not even know you have one until it's too late. All of a sudden, when you try to go to any social media or some other site that you visit every day, it redirects you to some weird place where there's no content at all, just a few ads for things that aren't even relevant to what you were trying to do! And then when you try to close the browser? It won't let you! It just keeps popping up ads and redirecting you over and over again. And if that weren't bad enough, sometimes these browser modifiers also change the fonts or appearance of your browser so that it looks horrible while they're doing their thing.
