What Is Beamforming?
If you're looking for an attractive way to make your wifi more robust and reliable, look no further than Beamforming. If it sounds like a thing you might want in your house, that's because it is a thing you might want in your home. Beamforming is a kind of radio frequency (RF) management in which an access point uses various antennas to transmit the same signal. Beamforming is a subset of smart antennas or Advanced Antenna Systems (AAS). The idea behind Beamforming is simple: instead of broadcasting a single signal out into the world, the antenna system sends one focused signal directly to each device or group of devices that wants it. This makes it much easier for machines to pick up the signal and connect. When getting a message across, you must ensure it reaches the intended audience. By broadcasting various signals and examining client feedback, the wireless LAN infrastructure could modify the signals it transmits. This way, it can identify the ideal path the signal must follow to get to a client device. Beamforming efficiently enhances the uplink and downlink SNR performances and the overall network capacity. Beamforming is also known as spatial filtering because it filters out noise from other signals that might affect your reception quality or reach. Beamforming is a technology that allows you to move your wifi signal around. It uses many antennas to broadcast the same signal but with different phases. When you're joined to a wifi network, you connect to the closest antenna, so if you have multiple antennas broadcasting the same signal, they can all be closer to you than if they were in different buildings. The antennas are shaped so that they'll all be pointing at the same place, so now your computer thinks it's connected to one antenna, but it's getting signals from multiple ones! This technique can also help reduce interference from other areas' networks and increase speeds.
