What Is Virtual Infrastructure?
Virtual infrastructure is the software-based IT infrastructure being hosted on another physical infrastructure and meant to be distributed as a service. So what does this mean to be "virtual"? The software that runs your infrastructure is hosted on another physical server. To simplify things, the server could be in your office or a data center somewhere in cyberspace, but you can access it anywhere. So why would you run your infrastructure like this? It provides organizations with access to enterprise-grade technology without building their physical infrastructure. It can save small companies money while providing them with the tools to grow their business. Another benefit of running your infrastructure as a service is that you can quickly scale up or down depending on your needs at any given time without worrying about whether or not you have enough space or availability available in your office. It means better efficiency for both your employees and customers! Virtual infrastructures are commonly used by small to large businesses to host various applications, ranging from internal software for daily operations to customer-facing websites. In most cases, virtual infrastructures are used alongside physical infrastructures to provide redundancy and failover in the case of an outage or any other emergency. Virtual infrastructures are highly scalable and can be upgraded or expanded easily compared to physical infrastructures, usually one-time investments. In [company], we think of virtual infrastructure as a lean resource-sharing approach. Why? Because we know that servers tend to be overkill and need to be taxed more to reach their resource limits. So why not run multiple logical servers on one physical host? That way, you can use your hardware's capacity instead of just a fraction of it. It promotes flexibility, scalability, and lower total cost of ownership.
