What Is Video Graphics Array (VGA) Connector?
You know why you need a VGA cable if you've ever had a parade of cats running across your screen. Now, instead of just the naturally colored cats with black eyes that you're used to seeing, you can select blue or green-eyed cats.VGA cables with VGA connectors have three parallel groups of wires inside a single sheath. The first group of wires carries red component video signals, the second group carries green component video signals, and the third group has blue component video signals. Each wire in a group is assigned a specific duty. Red, green, and blue component video signals are carried on different wires inside a single sheath. VGA cables and connectors are designed to space between adjacent rows of pins. The spacing between rows of staples is more significant than the width of a single row of pins. The greater spacing between adjacent rows of pins makes inserting VGA cables with VGA connectors into VGA ports easier.VGA connectors have been around for a long time. The D-subminiature 15-pin VGA connector was designed by IBM in 1987 and became the standard connector for VGA output devices. Suppose you're assembling an old computer system or preparing your high school graduation report on a vintage computer. In that case, the connector relays the video signal from the computer to the LCD monitor or projector.VGA delivers high-quality video images to your monitor, projectors and televisions. The VGA connector is a color-coded analog TV interface for computers, typically associated with PC monitors. IBM introduced it in 1987 as an improvement to their original BIOS graphics adapter (CGA And EGA), which could only produce 320x200 resolution. This analog connector replaced the previous displays, such as composite video and RGBI analog displays. The basic design of VGA has remained essentially unchanged since its introduction.
