What Is Value Added Reseller (VAR)?

TechDogs Avatar

The VAR is a strange creature. An entrepreneur charges you money to improve your life, but it doesn't do anything. The VAR is a snake that eats its tail and then sets you to watch it eat itself, but when it comes down to it, what's going on here? Why would anyone pay an ISV to do anything? It's not like the ISV does anything special. They take a product from someone else, add value (another way of saying "do nothing at all"), and then sell it back to you at a higher price. So what's the point? There isn't one! The only reason anyone would ever want a VAR is if they thought they were getting some particular benefit from them—like something they couldn't get anywhere else. But that's not true! You could get the same thing from an OEM or any other reseller who doesn't have their name attached to the product they're selling because they're not greedy enough to charge extra for doing nothing; The tech world has been buzzing about VAR solutions for the last few weeks. The problem is so widespread that some call it a "crisis. " VAR stands for Value-Added Reseller, which refers to a company that works with a manufacturer to bundle proprietary products and resell them to end-users. The practice is common in technology and electronics, where software and hardware manufacturers bundle proprietary products for end-users. The problem is that sometimes these companies need help getting their products into customers' hands. Some have even been accused of holding back shipments to make room in their warehouses for new inventory. So what can you do? Talk to your contact at the company who sent you your order as soon as possible—they'll know if there's any delay with shipping or if there are problems with production and can help get things sorted out ASAP!
