What Is URL Rewriting?
You may have heard the term "URL rewriting" before, but what exactly? If you've ever been to a website and tried to open a new tab, you may have noticed that the URL of that site changed. URL rewriting is a process of modifying the address of a web page to something that makes sense for a particular situation; let's think about how you own a business and want to create a new landing page for your products; instead of using a URL like: example. com/index.html, you can rewrite the URL to something like: example. com/shop. You can see how the URL rewriting makes sense and makes the page easier to find and read. In the context of the internet, URL rewriting is often used to create a more "search engine friendly" site.
