In the past, security was all about keeping the bad guys out. Well, now the times have very much changed and have gotten better for the ones who are on the safer side of things. Nowadays, it's about keeping the good guys in and keeping them safe. The challenge is that there are a ton of good guys. A lot of different people use the same systems, and those people have to be able to access the data they need to do their jobs. That means that our systems have to be secure enough for everyone and open enough for everyone. That's where technical security comes in. Technical security refers to several techniques used to verify and protect against the theft of sensitive data and information, primarily in organizations.
