What Is Storage Performance Platform?
We're living in the future. You have a lot of things at your disposal that provides you with all the creature comforts in the world. There is one such where you call your computer with your voice, and it stands ready for your command this is one of its many perks that you should know about. We can now get our storage performance from a box on the desk rather than a box in the closet. It's called a "storage performance platform," an architecture paradigm for virtualized environments. The premise of this new approach to storage is the use of server-side media controlled by hypervisor-integrated software able to provide distributed or clustered platforms with accelerated storage read and write I/O operations. These new platforms use the flash- or RAM-based storage solutions within the server itself instead of slower disk-based ones implemented over a network fabric which means your data gets processed faster and more efficiently while using less power. It's no secret that server-side computing resources perform better than network-based storage solutions. When accessing media, it's all about the I/O paths. If your storage is in another room, building, or country, your data will take more time to get back and forth between the warehouse and your applications. That means you have to wait longer for your data, so you get less done as quickly. If you're working with shared storage implemented across a fabric? Good luck! You'll be lucky if it can keep up with the speed of a floppy disk drive from the 90s! Imagine a world where all your data is available, no matter where you are. You can access it from any device and share it with friends and family. A world where all the data is stored in one place and accessible from anywhere.
