For example, if you wanted to model the time for something to happen, like when an order is delivered, you could use a stochastic algorithm. You might have customers with different locations and delivery times, so it's hard to predict precisely when one order will arrive. Stochastics are used in artificial intelligence technology to solve problems based on probabilities. They're also commonly used in service level agreements (SLAs). The key thing about stochastic algorithms is that they're probabilistic they provide an estimate instead of an exact number. In other words, they could be better, but with enough data and training, they can make good guesses about how things will play out! The most common example is an SLA that states that the vendor can provide their service 99% of the time. The raw numbers for this are like "the probability that we will be able to provide our service is 0. 99". This means there's still a 1% chance of failure during any given day or month, and that's where stochastic algorithms come in handy: they can help you determine what happens when something goes wrong.
