What Is Secure Socket Layer Server (SSL Server)?
The internet is a potentially risky place to be. The secure sockets layer server (SSL server) is an extension of a web server built to perform cryptographic activities to provide a secure connection between the server and the client, typically a web browser. To put it another way, it is the component that enables users to see variations in color when browsing the internet. When using the internet, you must be cautious about the people you connect with. You have a responsibility to ensure that the person you are communicating with is who they or they claim to be and that they are not attempting to steal something from you or obtain information about you. Using an SSL server helps ensure that no unauthorized parties can access user information. Over a public network such as the internet, the SSL server is typically utilized for e-commerce and the safety of financial data and client information. This is accomplished with the help of SSL server certificates, which reveal to the client the server or website's identity and the reputable certificate authority responsible for issuing the certification. Your website's SSL and TLS protocols have just been implemented on your site's web server. Both the secure communications and the web server are now ready to be constructed, and the web server is ready to take individual customer requests. You can now begin using unique port numbers for secure connections, or you can continue using ordinary port numbers until you request a secure connection.
