What Is Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC)?
They say you can't have your cake and eat it too, but sometimes you can't even have one without the other. Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC) are just like that. They enable you to have connectivity and ensure you'll always have it. A (PVC) is a lasting and established connection between two nodes in mount relay and noncontemporary transfer mode-based networks. It also enables the design of a logical connection on top of a physical connection between nodes that communicate frequently or continuously. A PVC allows network resources to be shared among many users by providing a dedicated bandwidth path for each user. Unlike Switched Virtual Circuits (SVCs), which are set up manually when needed, PVCs exist on routers as permanent connections until they are terminated manually, even if no traffic is being sent through them. You know how you want to give your life over to the internet, but then you remember that you need to physically connect your computer to the internet? And then you must go through a bunch of hoops and jump through all sorts of rings to do that? Well, thanks to PVCs, that is no longer necessary. A PVC (or permanent virtual circuit) allows a physical connection to support multiple virtual courses simultaneously. It's like a regular virtual circuit, except it's endless! That means you can set up your private network between any two points and let them talk back and forth all day long without worrying about paying for data or dealing with network congestion. It's like having a direct line between two points—but without all the hassle of setting up said line in the first place. Of course, suppose you ever decide that this connection isn't working out for you. In that case, it can be terminated anytime—but it's probably not going anywhere anytime soon: these connections are pretty much permanent!
