What Is Nym Server?
Nym servers are like the Snapchat of the Internet. They allow you to send and receive messages without revealing your true identity. This pseudonym server acts as a proxy for your email address so that even its operators cannot trace it. It's like having a secret identity in cyberspace, but without all the hassle of going to a costume store and getting into character whenever you want to check your messages. Nym servers are great for people who want to keep their online identities separate from their real-life ones or for those who want to avoid spamming their friends with unsolicited messages. Nym servers are like that guy your friend dated in college who would always say, "what's up?" and never really listen to whatever you said. They're also like a genie that lives on the Internet and answers to your every whim. Except they don't grant wishes or grant you wishes. They take your wishes and send them somewhere else, on their way to being given. (Sometimes, you can't tell if they were ever granted. ) So let's say you want to send an email but don't want anyone else to know who sent it you go to the nym server, a genie that lives on the Internet and listens to what you say. Then it takes your wish and sends it off through anonymous remailers, like genies that live on the Internet and do what they want even though they know you want something different. It would be best if you first created a pretty good privacy key pair to create a nym. This is a public/private key set that you send to the nym server, along with instructions on sending a message to your actual email address. This is sent via a reply block, which includes instructions on using the nym server account for two-way mailing. After you've created your pretty good privacy key pair and sent it to the nym server, they will send you a confirmation message through the reply block.
