Hardware troubleshooting is reviewing, diagnosing and identifying operational or technical problems within a hardware device or equipment. It aims to resolve physical and logical problems and issues within computing hardware. Hardware or technical support technician does hardware troubleshooting. Hardware troubleshooting processes primarily aim to resolve computer hardware problems using a systematic approach. The process involves the use of different tools, procedures and methods. The first step in hardware troubleshooting is to identify the problem. This step consists in examining the symptoms and identifying the cause of these problems. The second step is to isolate and identify the faulty component. This step consists in removing all the components from their sockets and testing each individually until you find out which part is faulty. The third step involves repairing or replacing defective parts with new ones compatible with your computer system's specifications. When something goes wrong with your hardware, you probably think, "I know it's not my fault." You would be right. Hardware troubleshooting is generally done on hardware equipment installed within a computer, server, laptop or connected device. The process starts by first identifying the problem and finding different issues that can cause such a problem and eventually leads to implementing a solution or alternative. Most of the time, there are no software problems but hardware issues. There are various ways of troubleshooting hardware issues, such as looking at logs, checking cables and connectors, checking the power supply and diagnosing memory issues.
