What Is General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS)?
The General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) is the computer system that you've been looking for. It's got a lot of great features, like being able to model mathematical operations, solve linear and nonlinear equations, and solve high-level problems. You're going to love how easy it is to use GAMS! Please type in your equation; it will do all the work. You'll be able to see the solution right away on your screen! You can even print out a hard copy of your results if you want one. GAMS is the best way to start with algebra and other higher-level math classes. It works great with any operating system and can help you solve any problem in style, from linear equations to quadratic functions! The GAMS language is a bit like a visual programming language for math. It's designed to help you focus on the problem you're solving and not on all the details of how to solve it. If you've ever used a spreadsheet program like Excel, or maybe even Google Sheets, then you're already familiar with some of the concepts behind GAMS. You have grids that are arranged in rows and columns; each cell in that grid can contain numbers and text; and when you enter data into those cells, the software automatically calculates things like sums or averages based on what's already there. GAMS goes one step further by giving users more control over their calculations, allowing them to define their functions or "subroutines" (which tell the system how to handle certain input data). This way, instead of writing out every calculation manually (which would take forever), you can tell GAMS how much space is being used up by each type of data and then let it figure out what should happen next!
