What Is Facebook Insights?
Facebook Insights is the best tool for understanding your fans. It's like a window into your audience's mind and doesn't need to be opened. It sits there, quietly gathering information about everything you post every time someone interacts with your page and interacts with a link you posted on your page. It's an incredible tool that allows you to view data about users' demographics (age, gender), behaviors (how often they visit your page), and consumption habits (when they're most likely to interact with content). You can use this information to ensure you're posting at the right time for your target audience. Facebook Insights is excellent for many things, but it is about more than just the numbers. Facebook Insights gives you tons of data on your posts and their performance, but what if you want to know how many people clicked on your post? How many times did they like it? Where did they click? And how many people see your position in the news feed at any time? Well, guess what! Facebook has that too! They call it "People Talking About This" (PTAT). It's pretty easy to find—click on the little drop-down arrow next to your post and select "View Share Metrics. " Then you'll see a breakdown of how many people have seen each share of that post and even how long those shares were open! So if someone clicked on the link in one of our posts and commented, we'd see that, or they liked our status update instead. PTAT lets us know what happened after people clicked on our post. Facebook Insights is easy to set up and use—you don't even have to leave Facebook! Just click "Insights" in the drop-down menu under "Pages" in the upper right corner of any Facebook page. You'll see many valuable data that will help guide your marketing strategy!
