What Is Electronic Mail (Email)?

TechDogs Avatar

The good old-fashioned "snail" mail is dead. It's time to move on, and email is the best way to do it. Email lets you send messages and files to anyone, anywhere in the globe, at any time of day or night, so if you're up late at night working on a project and need to send something to your boss on the other side of the planet, you can do it from your phone when everyone else is asleep. It's also easy to organize your inbox so that all your emails are stored in one place, so you don't have to worry about losing anything important if your computer crashes or gets stolen. Email is like a postcard, where the message is written on one side, and the other side is blank. The message is written on the Internet, and when you send your message to someone else, it travels through an ISP's email server. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a dedicated server? As a dedicated server, you are essential. You work long hours to ensure that emails are sent and received by their intended recipients. You can't afford to mess up because if you do, that email might not get where it needs to go. You're also pretty busy. It is best to constantly watch over your network, which can be difficult when things are running smoothly, and nothing is really happening. Yet when something goes wrong, like when someone tries to send an email from their phone, but the network is down, you need to be ready for anything! Then there's the whole "sending" thing: You don't want anyone sending any unimportant emails, so you check every single one before sending them through your system. That way, even if it takes time, everyone gets exactly what they need!
