Since channel bonding can significantly increase the throughput (or quantity of data that can be transmitted) between wireless devices, it is widely used in the Wi-Fi community. Not all Wi-Fi devices can use channel bonding, and not all Wi-Fi routers can handle it. If you want to use this method, check that your gadget and network are compatible. You should also be aware that channel bonding can lead to interference with neighboring Wi-Fi networks if they are also operating on the same frequency range. Why? More of the available frequency area is used up when channels are bonded. Therefore, there may be better options than bonding channels if you are in a congested location with many other Wi-Fi networks nearby. It's a common practice for wireless network administrators to combine multiple network interface cards (NICs) to increase throughput.
