What Is Bandwidth Meter?
If you're like most people, the Internet is your lifeblood. You check it constantly, sometimes more than once an hour. And when you're not home, you must rely on free WiFi in public areas like coffee shops and libraries. But what happens when that WiFi isn't enough for your needs? What if you need a bandwidth meter to track how much bandwidth you're using? A bandwidth meter is a tool through which various bandwidth-related aspects, like reporting and monitoring, can be performed. Such a tool can easily be installed on a computer to track Internet usage. It can also display real-time graphs, allowing users to easily create reports and issue alerts based on uploads and downloads. The Internet is a vast and wonderful place, but it can also be a giant ol' bandwidth hog if you're not careful. It's easy to get caught up in everything you want to do with your computer—streaming movies, downloading apps, sending messages—. Still, if you're not careful, that activity can eat away at your data plan like a hungry cheetah on a gazelle. And then what are you going to do? Cry? If this has kept you up at night (or, more accurately, keeping your phone bill from getting paid), we've got some good news: various bandwidth meter applications are available on the market. They may perform multiple functions, such as blocking incoming connections and monitoring bandwidth usage. The applications also allow tracking bandwidth usage based on relationships and can further drill down to discover which apps consume more bandwidth than others. While some of these applications may be free, others may require payment or subscription fees; however, in our opinion, all are worth their weight in gold if it means keeping track of how much data each app uses so that users can better manage their data plans!
