What Is Backward Compatible?

There's no denying that essential components have to align in perfect symmetry and fall in the right place at the right time when it comes to compatibility. What exactly does this line exactly mean? You probably already know that compatibility means working with another system or device. What about backward compatibility? An older product's interface that is still usable with newer hardware or software is backward compatible. For example, if you have a more contemporary video game console and want to play a more senior game, it must be backward compatible. It also means that a new standard product or model is considered backward compatible when it can read, write or view older formats. Backward compatibility allows unique technology to advance without superseding a current component. Backward compatibility is also known as downward compatibility. Is my system backward compatible? The answer is YES! It's more than just backward compatible. It's forward-compatible, too. That means you can use your new hardware with older versions of the same product and be good to go. It doesn't stop there. You can also use your new system with other products from other manufacturers.
