What Is Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)?
Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Short for Amazon VPC) is the coolest thing to happen to the cloud since, well, AWS itself. With Amazon VPC, you can create your private cloud within the publicly available Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud offerings. With Amazon VPC, you get all the resources and flexibility needed to build a complete in-house data center in the AWS cloud. With all of its policies & permissions, range of IP addresses, subnets, and routes configuration, and manage the entire resources as they would have been in an in-house data center. Amazon VPC is a way to build your internet, where you can set up your IP address, connect it with your cloud server, and control who can access it. It's like having a private server that only lets you and your friends connect to it. So how does Amazon VPC work? You start by setting up an Amazon EC2 instance (just a virtual computer). Then you connect it to your private network. Then you use Amazon Elastic IP addresses to assign different IP addresses to your EC2 instances, all accessible from the outside world. You can also choose between public or private IP addresses for your EC2 samples and Amazon VPC. VPCs are helpful if you have strict corporate network rules because they allow you to partition your resources and create a dedicated network. Amazon VPC also lets you choose the location of your help. You can select a data center on the East Coast or the West Coast or an area that provides proximity to your users. Amazon VPC also lets you create multiple connections to your network. If one link goes down, your resources will still be accessible. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!
