You know that feeling when you're in a hurry and trying to get an important document from your computer to your boss, but the printer is out of ink, and there are no more USB cables? Well, that's Uploading (U/L). It refers to copying files from a smaller peripheral device to an extensive central system. This process may involve transferring data from a local computer to a remote one. Uploading is the most popular file-sharing technique. Uploading and downloading are similar in moving information from one device to another. However, uploading consists of sending data to a server, while downloading involves receiving data from a server. When you want to share files with others, you can upload them to a website where people can download them. It is often free, but there may be limits on how much data you can send or receive at once. If your internet connection goes down or the website's servers are down for maintenance, you may only have a way to download something once they come back online! When you upload a file, you're sending it from your computer to a remote system so that it has a copy of your file. If you wanted to send a picture of your cat to your friend who lives in Italy, you'd have to send them the file via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). But what if they don't have FTP? Well, they'll have to download the picture from where it's hosted and save it themselves. Alternatively, they could use another protocol like HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) or HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure). But wait! What if they aren't connected to the internet?
