What Is Uninstaller?

If you're looking for a way to uninstall that application you downloaded online, we have just the thing for you. The uninstaller is a program or tool part of an application bundle used with Windows operating systems (OS). It allows a user to safely uninstall an application by running a program and following a series of prompts that warn users about its removal. Uninstallers are usually bundled with the main application download but can also download from a vendor's website. Some programs may require an uninstaller if they are installed as a Portable Application or if they are installed in a location other than the Program Files directory. Uninstallers are essential to the software installation process because they help remove the software from a computer. Uninstallers may also troubleshoot software installation problems by uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Most applications include an uninstaller that is accessible from a Windows control panel. Sometimes, you may need to locate the program's installation folder and manually locate the uninstaller. Most uninstallers are easy to use, but you may need to consult the program's documentation if you have trouble removing it. Removing an application with its uninstaller only sometimes ensures it is entirely gone from your computer. Some applications leave behind remnants in the system registry you can quickly correct this issue by using a registry cleaner. As we all know, Windows has a system registry. It's like an extensive database of all the apps installed on your computer. So when you uninstall an app, you must remove it from the registry. But Mac OS X doesn't have a registry. Instead, it uses application bundles like little folders that hold all of an app's contents to house all its bits and pieces. That means you don't need an uninstaller! To remove apps on Mac OS X, move their folder or icon to the trash. That's it!
