What Is Superfish?

A computer, like any other machine, is a tool. It's a means to an end and can be used for good or evil, depending on who's using it. Superfish is just one more example of how computers can be misused for the wrong reasons. Superfish is a kind of third-party application that people often think of as adware or malware because of its potential to leave systems vulnerable to cyberattacks. In 2014, PC manufacturer Lenovo included Superfish in its factory-direct software package. The Superfish software is like a walking, talking nightmare. It's not the nightmare you can wake up from and laugh about. It's the kind of nightmare where you wake up screaming in terror because you have no idea what just happened to your computer. However, it was discovered that the software was installed on millions of computers to allow them to be used as a proxy to redirect traffic to specific websites and inject ads into websites. Superfish is not a single piece of software but rather a term that describes a class of advertising-based visual search products. The software comes in different varieties, so there is no one way to uninstall it. You can, however, follow the steps below to disable Superfish. It's not a good time to be Superfish. The internet security company has been in the news lately after it was revealed that they had installed their software on computers without users' consent. The software included a tracking code that could not be removed from affected systems and was used to serve ads to make money off people's web browsing habits. It turns out that this isn't the first time Superfish has been in trouble for installing their software without user consent. As early as 2010, when Superfish software was bundled with Lenovo PCs, people were talking about how much they hated it!
