What Is Open Systems Interconnection Model (OSI Model)?

The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model was invented by a bunch of nerds who wanted to make sure they could talk to one another. So they came up with a way to describe what they were doing to ensure they were all on the same page. The OSI Model is a conceptual and logical format that defines community verbal exchange utilized by structures open to interconnection and verbal interaction with different structures. The version is damaged into seven subcomponents, or layers, representing a conceptual series of offerings supplied to the layers above and under it. The OSI Model defines a logical network and effectively describes computer packet transfer using different layer protocols. The OSI Model became advanced with the aid of using the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 1978. While running on a community framework, ISO determined to broaden the seven-layer model. OSI’s seven layers are divided into portions: warm layers and media layers. The warm component consists of the application, presentation, consultation and delivery layers; the media component consists of the community, facts hyperlink and physical layers. The hot layer is responsible for communicating with applications and users. In contrast, the media layer sends and receives data to other computers or devices through hardware such as cables, hubs and modems. While many aspects of computer science continue to evolve (and will continue to), one thing that has remained constant over time is how much we rely on software systems to perform essential tasks within our daily lives and how important it is that these systems remain secure against attack from outside forces seeking to do us harm (or worse). In other words: it's like building a house! You have your foundation (layer 1), then your walls (layer 2), then your roof (layer 7). Each layer provides services to the above and below, just like each floor offers services to the floors above and below it in a house!
