J2EE product providers are the backbone of the J2EE platform. The companies develop and supply the tools you need to build, deploy, and manage your J2EE applications. The J2EE platform is a set of specifications that define how to design, develop, deploy and manage Java-based enterprise applications. It's a collection of standards that Sun Microsystems and other companies developed to allow developers to create applications that can run on any operating system or computer hardware.
