What Is Information Graphic (Infographic)?
Infographics are the best way to convey complicated information in a simple, easy-to-understand format. They're like a map for your brain that tells you exactly what you need to know and how to find it. And they're everywhere. You've seen them on social media, email newsletters, and billboards! If you've ever been confused by an infographic before, don't worry. We're here to help. First things first, what is an infographic? It's a visual representation of a data set or informational material. An infographic takes a large amount of information in a text or numerical form. It then condenses it into a combination of images and text, allowing viewers to quickly grasp the data's essential insights. It is also not a product of the Web, but the Internet has helped popularize their use as a content medium. They have been used for a variety of communication purposes for centuries. However, the advent of the Internet has taken on new significance. Today, every industry from marketing to education and every profession from sales to engineering relies on infographics to convey information and data. They are a highly shareable, visual form of content that is essential to the success of any Internet marketing campaign. Infographics are all around, from pie charts to diagrams to the organizational chart in an office setting. That said, the infographics about social topics, surprising facts, historical perspectives and so forth tend to be shared through email and social media. These can be data-based infographics, like the rise in Internet use, or fact-based, like the decreasing length of celebrity marriages. The ability to package more information in a smaller space makes infographics an attractive tool for instruction and marketing. If you've seen one infographic, you've seen them all. Not quite! Infographics come in many shapes and sizes and can be used for various purposes. Whether a simple list of facts or a complex visual representation of a scientific concept, infographics are an effective way for marketers to reach customers on multiple platforms at once.
