Golden masters are notoriously bad at listening to others. They don't give a damn about what other people say because they are the most knowledgeable! Golden masters are so intent on proving that they are correct that they are oblivious to the amount of time they waste debating with other individuals about how incorrect they believe those other individuals to be. The final version of a programme is referred to as the golden master version of the software. This version is ready to be distributed to end users. It's the finished product of weeks, months, or even years of development work, and it's usually a stable version that doesn't need any more testing or programming. A digital signature may be required to guarantee the software's integrity and authenticity. This version is typically transmitted to the manufacturing department, which is used as a template for producing many copies. When their product is ready for shipment, most software businesses and manufacturers of software-enabled products use the term "golden master" or "gone gold" to denote that their product has reached this stage.
