What Is Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)?
Fused filament fabrication is the hottest new thing in 3D printing and is here to stay. If you're wondering what FFF is, you can think of it as a fancy way of saying "rapid prototyping and manufacturing technique that adds layer after layer of molten plastic to create a model or product." The technology is similar to stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) but uses a different method to fuse plastic. It also has its advantages. For one thing, it can print objects up to hundreds of layers thick without any support material—meaning that you don't have to worry about your object falling apart during printing or having supports sticking out all over the place when it's done. It also allows for faster production times than other additive manufacturing processes because fewer steps are involved in creating each layer—and less waiting around for the previous one to cool down before you can add another one on top! When you're making something with FFF, it's like printing a model on a 3D printer. The magic happens when you combine the right materials and settings and add in some FFF! You'll need to choose what kind of material you want to use (PLA? ABS? TPU?) and the settings for your printer (printing speed, layer height). Then it's time to get creative! Just open up CAD/CAM software on your computer and draw out what you want.
