What Is Fabric Computing?
All of us have heard the phrase 'it's all connected. Since the dawn of the internet, everything seems to be connected, which we now consider the new normal. Yet there has been a lingering question for us who don't know much about it. What does that mean for you and us? Unified computing is the new hotness in the data center, and fabric computing is a big part of it. Unified computing is also known as "fabric computing" or "grid computing," and it's kind of like a unified fabric for all your data centers. You can use a single fabric to connect all your servers and other resources, making it easier to manage them all. Fabric is the word we use to talk about the computing resources that make up your computer: the processor, memory, storage, etc. These things are interlinked and work together; we call them a fabric. The future of computing is coming, and it's a fabric. A fabric computing system is a high-performance computing system composed of interconnected storage, networking, and parallel processing functions. When taken collectively, the nodes and links appear to be part of the fabric. As of their interconnected nature, fabric computing systems are the next step in supercomputing. Everything about how we compute might be changed as a result. It's the next step forward for supercomputing and could change everything about how we compute. What does this mean in conclusion? Well, if you ever find yourself wishing your computer could talk to your phone more efficiently or that your workstation could better integrate with your company's network architecture, you know, just like when you're sitting at home watching TV and wish there was an app that would let you play games while watching Netflix the future is here!
