Suspend Mode

If you want to confirm this has happened, open Task Manager and check to see if all processes are running normally. If so, then congrats: You've successfully exited suspend mode! The process is called a complete shutdown when you shut down your computer. When you put your computer into sleep mode, it's called stop mode. The ACPI standard defines two different types of suspend: S1 and S3. ACPI mode S1 is used to turn off computers that are not connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). If you're using a laptop or desktop with no battery backup, your hard drive will stop spinning, and your monitor will turn off. However, your computer will still be on and running in this mode. ACPI mode S2 hibernates computers connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). It means that if you're using a laptop or desktop with a battery backup, it will go into hibernation instead of entirely shutting down, which allows for faster booting times when restarting the system. It's like that crazy aunt because it provides a backbone for sleep and hibernation in computers, which is great for when you want your computer to go into standby mode or hibernate.
