What Is Data Filtering?
Data filtering is essential for getting the most out of your data. It's like a fine strainer that filters out the best of the best right down to the last drop and makes it so worthwhile that it'll always be worth your time to spend time on it. Let's not get poetic but straight back to the point that we were trying to make. It can be used to refine a data set in a way that's tailored to fit your needs, and it can also help you avoid repetitive or irrelevant information. The possibilities are endless! Data filtering allows you to search for relevant information and eliminate useless information. You can use it on reports, query results, or other information. That's just scratching the surface! Data filtering can be about something other than what you're looking for. It can also let you know what there isn’t. So, if something needs to be added to your report or query result, you'll know immediately without having to do extra work yourself! Data filtering is the first step in a beautiful masterpiece. It's the part where your raw materials are transformed into something you can use to create something unique. Do you know when you're painting and start with a big, empty canvas? Then you get all excited and jump right in with the brushes and paint, but it turns out that your masterpiece looks more like a Jackson Pollock painting than anything else. Then you have to go back and start over again? Well, data filtering is like that. You start with some stuff, and sometimes it's even good stuff! All those different pieces don't fit together in any meaningful way. Data filtering helps you take all those other pieces and turn them into something coherent: the perfect painting for your wall!
