The move signals a major step toward mainstream adoption of its purpose-built robotaxi service.

Zoox Quadruples San Francisco Service Area To Capture High-Demand City Zones

Zoox is significantly expanding its San Francisco footprint, focusing on areas where ride-hailing demand is highest rather than quieter residential zones.

Starting this spring, the service will extend across the eastern half of the city, including Marina, North Beach, Chinatown, Pacific Heights, and the Embarcadero.

This expansion marks a fourfold increase in its operational geofence, allowing more users from its growing waitlist to access rides. At the same time, Zoox is preparing for broader public deployment.

Beyond San Francisco, the company is moving toward a coast-to-coast presence. Its robotaxis are set to launch in Austin and Miami, where testing has been underway since mid-2024 using retrofitted vehicles.

Initial access in these cities will remain limited to employees and close networks, with gradual expansion planned as testing progresses.

Zoox Expands Las Vegas Robotaxi Stops, Adds Airport, Hotels, And Major Venues

Zoox is also deepening its presence in Las Vegas by expanding pickup and drop-off locations across the Strip. The company has more than doubled its service points, now covering major hotels and venues, including the Las Vegas Convention Center.

It is also piloting services tied to high-traffic events through partnerships with Sphere and T-Mobile Arena. These offerings will initially be limited before opening to the public later this spring.

The company is eyeing airport integration as a major opportunity. After testing at Harry Reid International Airport, which handled nearly 55 million passengers in 2025, Zoox plans to introduce its robotaxi to support seamless travel from arrival to destination.

Zoox Enhances In-Car Experience With Find My Zoox And ZooxCast

Alongside geographic expansion, Zoox is refining its in-vehicle experience. A new feature called “Find My Zoox” uses lighting and sound cues to help riders locate their vehicle in crowded pickup zones.

Another addition, “ZooxCast,” enables riders to connect their devices via Bluetooth and stream personal audio, complementing existing curated playlists.

These updates aim to make rides more intuitive and personalized, reducing friction in real-world usage scenarios.

Zoox Hits Major Growth Milestone

This multi-city expansion represents Zoox’s largest milestone to date. The company is scaling operations while simultaneously introducing product enhancements designed to improve reliability and usability.

“This expansion marks a significant step forward for Zoox and is driven by the insights from our early deployments,” said Aicha Evans, CEO. “This is our year of growth.”

The company has logged nearly two million autonomous miles and served over 350,000 riders in under a year. These insights are feeding into improvements such as a more accurate ETA engine, pre-booking estimates, and reduced wait times.

Zoox maintains that its purpose-built robotaxi design remains central to delivering a differentiated autonomous mobility experience.

Zoox Gains Momentum With Strong Rider Ratings And Growing Waitlist

Consumer interest in Zoox continues to grow, with over 500,000 people on its waitlist. Early rider feedback has been strong, with average ratings of 4.7 stars across Las Vegas and San Francisco.

Users frequently highlight the vehicle’s unique cabin design and social experience, which differs from traditional ride-hailing. While initial adoption focused on novelty, Zoox is now seeing a shift toward practical, everyday transportation use.

This transition signals a broader acceptance of autonomous mobility, as riders begin integrating robotaxis into daily routines rather than treating them as one-off experiences.
