Meta has launched Seller, a standalone app that gives frequent Facebook Marketplace merchants a dedicated workspace for creating listings, managing inventory, communicating with buyers, and tracking sales performance without relying entirely on the main Facebook app.
TL;DR
- Seller syncs existing Marketplace listings, messages, and sales history into one app.
- Meta AI can draft titles, descriptions, suggested prices, and categories from uploaded product photos.
- The iOS app is initially available to US users aged 18 and older, while Android testing is underway.
- Meta also introduced free selfie-based Facebook Verified badges for Marketplace, Dating, and Groups.
Facebook Marketplace is turning ten, and Meta is marking the occasion by giving its most active sellers an app of their own.
Called Seller, the new app is designed for people who use Marketplace as a side hustle, small business, or regular source of income. According to Meta, Marketplace now receives 430 million new item listings every month globally, making seller organization and faster listing creation increasingly important.
Meta’s official announcement said Seller connects directly with a user’s Facebook Marketplace account. Existing listings, buyer messages, and selling history carry over automatically, while anything created through Seller also appears on Marketplace for buyers.
The main Seller dashboard highlights tasks requiring attention, including items that must be shipped, unanswered buyer messages, and listings that may need repricing. It also provides a snapshot of sales performance, giving merchants a clearer view of their activity from one location.
Meta AI is one of the app’s core features. Sellers can upload product photos and let the AI suggest a title, description, price, and category. A bulk-listing tool also lets users prepare multiple listings at once, potentially reducing repetitive work for higher-volume merchants.
The app includes inventory controls for viewing, editing, relisting, and managing products. Its unified inbox organizes buyer conversations by item, while performance insights cover views, clicks, message threads, and sold listings, helping sellers assess demand and make pricing decisions.
“This is just the start, we’ll continue to evolve the app based on feedback from our seller community,” Meta said in its announcement.
Reuters reported that the launch is part of Meta’s effort to strengthen Marketplace against e-commerce competitors such as eBay. The report also highlighted that Marketplace generates revenue from boosted listings and that Seller gives merchants tools intended to improve how they manage and promote their goods.
TechCrunch noted that Seller arrives as Meta increases its focus on specialized standalone apps for highly engaged communities. The company launched Forum for Facebook Groups in May, while Seller targets people who list and sell products frequently.
Mashable similarly framed Seller as a standalone Facebook Marketplace app built specifically for sellers, reinforcing Meta’s attempt to separate high-frequency selling workflows from Facebook’s broader social experience.
For now, Seller is available through Apple’s App Store to people aged 18 and older in the United States. Meta said a web experience is available for sellers who download the iOS app, while an Android version is being tested.

Meta is also introducing Facebook Verified, a free verification system that is separate from the paid Meta Verified subscription. TechCrunch and Reuters reported that users can complete a selfie-based check to receive a badge showing that a real person is behind their profile across Marketplace, Facebook Dating, and Groups.
By combining AI-assisted listing creation, centralized seller communications, inventory tools, and free identity verification, Meta is positioning Marketplace as a more structured commerce platform, while keeping buyers and sellers connected to Facebook’s existing audience.
