Meta is rolling out Pocket, its experimental AI-powered app for building and sharing interactive mini-games, to users across the US after testing the product in Brazil. The app turns text prompts into playable creations that Meta calls “gizmos.”

TL;DR

  • Pocket lets US users create interactive mini-games from plain-language prompts and browse them through a social feed.
  • Gizmos can react to taps and phone movement, use photos, camera input and audio, and be saved, remixed or reposted.
  • Pocket comes from the team behind Gizmo and currently has no announced integration with Instagram.

According to TechCrunch, Meta is now rolling Pocket out to users across the US, expanding the app beyond the Brazil test market where it first appeared. Pocket lets people create small interactive games using AI prompts before publishing them to a scrollable feed.

These creations, or gizmos, can respond to touch and the tilt of a smartphone, play sound effects and include music. They can also make use of photos from a user’s camera roll or access the device camera, according to TechCrunch.

Business Insider reported that Pocket takes a familiar social-media approach to these AI-generated experiences. Users scroll vertically through gizmos and can interact with them by tapping, drawing or dragging across the screen, while social features include comments, likes, reposts and shareable links.

Creating one is designed to require little technical knowledge. Users describe what they want through a text prompt, after which they can refine the prompt, adjust visuals, add music or remix another user’s creation.

A Meta spokesperson told Business Insider that Pocket “turns your ideas into interactive creations you can play with and share right from your phone.” The spokesperson also said Meta currently has no plans to integrate Pocket with other apps such as Instagram.

Business Insider also reported that Pocket runs on Meta’s Muse Spark model, developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. Meta has separately described Muse Spark as the first model in its Muse series, while subsequent versions have expanded its coding and agentic capabilities.

Digital Trends similarly highlighted Pocket’s low-friction approach to game creation, with the app designed to let almost anyone turn an idea into something playable without relying on a conventional game-development workflow.

Meta’s official US App Store listing reinforces that pitch, describing Pocket as a platform for making and sharing gizmos simply by describing them. The listing says users can refine their creations in an editor and save, remix or repost other gizmos, while the Google Play listing also confirms features involving touch, phone tilt, cameras, photos and audio.

Pocket Builds On Meta's Gizmo Deal

Pocket was developed by the team behind Gizmo, an interactive-content app created by Atma Sciences. Business Insider previously reported that Meta hired the Atma Sciences team and secured a non-exclusive license to its technology, while both Business Insider and TechCrunch reported that the original Gizmo app is now being shut down.

Pocket also arrives as Meta accelerates its broader push into AI-powered products and stand-alone applications. In its second-quarter 2026 results, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “AI is accelerating our core business today, powering our next generation of products.”

For now, Meta has not announced an Instagram integration for Pocket, while the reports reviewed do not establish wider international rollout plans beyond the existing Brazil and US availability.
