What Is False Rejection?
This may have happened to you many times, you have reported the case to the Tech Support people, but they just can't solve the problem. We have an answer to that. False rejection is when a biometric device rejects a genuine user and incorrectly labels that user as an intruder. False rejection happens when the device fails to recognize a legitimate user's biometric data. Biometrics identifies unique physical features to authenticate users. Biometrics distinguishes human physical characteristics as a mode of authentication. Biometrics is used for organizations' identification, access control and time and attendance tracking. Biometric devices authenticate individuals' identities by scanning their fingerprints, iris or face and matching it against previously stored templates in their database. The accuracy of a biometric device is considered by its false rejection rate, which measures how often the system incorrectly rejects an authorized user as an intruder. When it comes to biometric systems, accuracy is everything. The more accurate data you get, the better you can analyze the data and ensure the results are accurate. That's why it's essential to have a system that captures as much information as possible, and that's where FRR comes in. FRR stands for false rejection rate, which means how often your system rejects a valid user because of an error in their biometric data. For example, suppose your facial recognition system requires a high-quality picture and ample lighting. In that case, it will only accept more people than an identical system that doesn't need those same conditions Or you're scanning fingerprints with dirty fingers, which will also cause issues with false rejection rates! The bottom line is that less is more when it comes to FRR. And by working with us to improve our analysis techniques, we can also help improve your FRR!
