Overall Rating

Yelp built its reputation on helping people find restaurants. Now, it wants artificial intelligence (AI) to make the phone call for them, too!

In its 2026 Fall Product Release, announced by Chief Product Officer Akhil Kuduvalli Ramesh on October 20, Yelp introduced more than 30 features, updates, and integrations, led by a smarter Yelp Assistant and new AI tools for consumers and businesses.

TL;DR

  • Yelp Assistant adds OpenTable bookings, Yelp Waitlist access, personalized reminders, and weather-aware recommendations.
  • Check for Me uses an AI phone agent to call restaurants for live wait times and text customers the answer.
  • My Lists organizes favorite places and will offer weekly personalized recommendations.
  • Smart Lead Reply will automate and qualify customer inquiries for eligible businesses at $30 per month.

Yelp Assistant Adds OpenTable Bookings, Personalized Recommendations And Reminders

Yelp Assistant can now help iOS users reserve tables at tens of thousands of U.S. restaurants through OpenTable by selecting a date, time, and party size. OpenTable handles booking confirmations and changes, while eligible restaurants also support joining Yelp Waitlist directly through the chat.

Combined with existing Yelp Reservations, DoorDash, and Grubhub integrations, Yelp Assistant now supports booking and ordering across more than 500,000 restaurants.

The assistant is also getting more personal through Keep Me Posted, which schedules recurring recommendations and reminders. It uses previous conversations and reviews to suggest relevant places, while real-time weather information helps refine recommendations.

Meanwhile, recent conversations remain accessible for 30 days, with complete chat history coming later. Users also get interactive maps, quick action buttons, and the ability to request quotes for up to five home-service projects in one conversation.

Yelp's Check for Me AI Agent Calls Restaurants To Check Wait Times

Here's where Yelp is taking the next step.

Its new Check for Me feature eliminates the need to personally call restaurants about waiting times. Users simply select “Check wait time now,” provide their party size and phone number, and an AI voice agent calls the restaurant.

The agent then sends the reported wait time through a text message within minutes.

However, the feature isn't universally available yet. Yelp plans to roll it out over the coming months on eligible U.S. restaurant listings and within Yelp Assistant on iOS, wherever walk-in dining is supported.

Yelp My Lists Organizes Favorite Places And Offers Personalized Suggestions

Yelp is also introducing My Lists, allowing users to organize businesses into “Been Here” and “Want to Go” collections.

Users can rank favorite businesses, add notes, filter saved places by location or cuisine, and share recommendations with friends. The feature is available on iOS and Android, with lists accessible on desktop.

Beginning in November 2026, Yelp will introduce weekly personalized recommendations based on users' saved locations and rankings, followed by expanded list discovery and updated map views.

Yelp Smart Lead Reply Automates Customer Inquiries For $30 Per Month

Businesses aren't being left out of the AI push.

Yelp's Smart Lead Reply is an agentic AI tool that automatically responds to Request a Quote inquiries, answers customer questions using business profile information, collects project details, and qualifies potential leads.

Business owners can customize responses, pricing details, questions, and scheduling links, while reviewing conversations through their Yelp inbox.

The service launches in November 2026 for $30 per month across eligible service categories, including plumbers, contractors, electricians, and home cleaners.

Yelp Expands Business Scheduling Integrations And AI Advertising Tools

Supporting these business-focused updates, Yelp is introducing direct appointment-booking integrations with ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro, alongside expanded Calendly support.

Meanwhile, Jobber and Workiz integrations automatically transfer Yelp leads into business management platforms. Multi-location businesses also gain a consolidated inbox for handling customer inquiries.

These additions extend the kind of AI-powered customer service and sales automation that businesses are increasingly exploring.

For advertisers, Yelp Audiences now personalizes advertising creative using consumers' previous search intent. Its new Shopify Conversions app also connects Yelp ad interactions with purchases, helping brands measure campaign performance more directly.
