Financial Express reported that the affected workplace is located in the Moore Building on Nashville's Music Row and spans nearly 145,000 square feet. TikTok leased the space in 2024, with much of the office housing members of its content moderation operation.

Yahoo Finance also reported the 250 job cuts and office closure, marking a reversal from TikTok's expansion into Nashville just two years earlier.

TikTok Says The Move Will Streamline Its US Operations

Zanna Crowley, a spokesperson for the TikTok USDS Joint Venture, confirmed the restructuring.

Crowley said the Nashville closure was intended to “streamline our operations and better align our teams for long-term growth.”

TikTok USDS Joint Venture was established earlier in 2026 and is responsible for areas including US user data protection, algorithm security, software assurance and content moderation. TikTok's own announcement at the time said the joint venture would oversee safeguards for more than 200 million American users.

Content Moderation Staff Are Among Those Affected

The Nashville office included members of TikTok's content moderation team, making the cuts notable as social media companies increasingly use automated systems and artificial intelligence to identify potentially harmful content.

The Nashville restructuring also comes amid reported changes to TikTok's trust and safety operations elsewhere. Financial Express reported that the company is considering hundreds of job cuts in Dublin while simultaneously planning new specialist safety roles as part of a wider reorganization.

For now, TikTok has not disclosed further details about which specific Nashville roles will be eliminated beyond reports that content moderation employees are among those affected.
