Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025: Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, Watch8, AI And More

Samsung just completed its flagship Galaxy Unpacked event at Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn on July 9, 2025, marking the second iteration of the Unpacked event this year.
The first one took place on January 22, where the company revealed the Galaxy S25 series, its new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and teased other products such as its first Android XR (eXtended Reality) headset—Project Moohan—and the Galaxy S25 Edge—an ultra-slim smartphone that was finally launched in mid-May 2025.
Themed “Unfold Ultra,” Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 saw Samsung reveal the next generation of its Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Watch products, along with some upgrades to its AI capabilities.
It all began with TM Roh, the company’s head of mobile business, talking about Galaxy AI, the company’s AI platform, and how Samsung’s latest lineup makes it more meaningful, personal, and accessible.
“When AI is paired with powerful mobile technology, it opens up a whole new world of opportunities. The biggest breakthroughs are made when hardware, software and services challenge each other to grow,” said TM Roh, President, Acting Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
Ahead of this, Won-Joon Choi, COO of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, introduced One UI 8, the company’s next generation user interface that’s purpose built for foldables, optimized for AI use, and capable of top-shelf personalization through the on-device Personal Data Engine, as well as privacy and security at the core.
Samsung also revealed that Android 16 will be available on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 at launch, which was built in close collaboration with Google.
It’s no surprise that the Galaxy Z Fold7 was the star of the show, especially considering the theme of the entire event was “Unfold Ultra.”
The phone is also Samsung’s slimmest and lightest in the Galaxy Z Fold series to date, measuring 4.2mm when unfolded, 8.9mm when folded, and weighing just 215 grams. From the first version—which was 17.1 mm folded and 7.6 mm unfolded—the 7th iteration offers a 48% reduction in thickness, with weight dropping from 276g to 215g.
At this weight, it’s lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, too.
The phone is currently available for pre-order and will be generally available beginning July 25.
It comes with a 6.5-inch cover screen (with a new 21:9 aspect ratio, 2520 x 1080 resolution with 422ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2) and an 8-inch main display (2,600 nits of peak brightness on a 2184 x 1968—368ppi screen)—both Dynamic AMOLED 2X.
Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which delivers performance boosts of 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to its predecessor, the Fold7 sports multimodal AI capabilities.
Cameras are a standout feature in Samsung flagship phones, and this one comes with a 10MP Selfie Camera (cover), a 10MP main camera (front), and rear triple cameras that include a 200MP wide-angle camera (the first in the series), a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Of course, this is enhanced by the phone’s AI prowess.
Its 4,400mAh dual battery offers 50% charge in around 30 minutes when using a wired charging, using a 25W adapter and a 3A USB-C cable, all wrapped in an advanced armor aluminum frame.
Color options include Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet-black, and Mint [samsung.com exclusive].
Connectivity spans 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, and up to two Nano SIMs and Multi eSIMs. Customers are offered the option of 16GB memory with 1TB internal storage, 12GB memory with 512GB internal storage, and 12GB memory with 256GB internal storage.

Weighing just 188g and measuring only 13.7mm when folded, Galaxy Z Flip7 is the slimmest Galaxy Z Flip yet. Its main display features a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow (the largest yet, with a 1048 x 948 resolution) when flipped, and a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen (2520 x 1080 at a 21:9 ratio) when unflipped.
It comes with a robust armor aluminum frame, a mammoth 4,300mAh battery (again, the largest yet), and is powered by the latest 3nm processor that’s customized for Galaxy and outperforms its predecessor.
As far as its cameras are concerned, it offers a 10MP Selfie Camera in the front, and a rear dual camera set—a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP wide-angle camera. It offers 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth v5.4, with one nano SIM and multi eSIM.
Powered by the Exynos 2500, customers can choose between 12GB of memory with 256GB or 512GB internal storage. Color options include Blue Shadow, Jet-Black, Coral-red, and Mint (Samsung.com exclusive).
The phone comes with numerous AI capabilities, such as Gemini Live on FlexWindow to search for information with their voice and complete tasks, Now Bar to see real-time app activity, podcast progress and alerts right on the cover screen, Now Brief for even more personalized daily updates including traffic, reminders, calendar events, fitness summaries, and personalized music and video recommendations.
Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which offers a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2640 × 1080 and a ratio of 22:9 for the main screen, and a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED 720 x 748 screen as the cover screen.
This phone is 1g less than its counterpart but offers the same camera capabilities. However, customers are offered the Exynos 2400 with the option of 8GB of memory with 128GB or 256GB internal storage. The battery is also smaller, coming in as a 4,000mAh (typical) dual battery.
Connectivity includes 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.4, with one nano SIM and multi eSIM. Color options span Black and White.
These two will be available for pre-order starting July 9, with general availability beginning July 25.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch8 series—Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic—which can help users build tailored routines with tools for sleep guidance, running coaching, antioxidant and vascular load tracking.
Sporting a soft-edged cushion design, the Watch8 series is the world’s first smartwatch to come equipped with Google’s Gemini, Google’s AI assistant.
Building on the “thin” theme, the Galaxy Watch8 is the thinnest design in the series to date, measuring just 8.6 mm, and is extremely lightweight. It also comes in a new Titanium Blue color.
