Meta Launches Cheaper AI Glasses With EssilorLuxottica
Meta is making another swing at putting AI on people’s faces, this time with a cheaper, own-brand smart glasses lineup created in partnership with EssilorLuxottica.
The new Meta Glasses build on the technology behind what the company calls the world’s best-selling AI glasses, while pushing the entry price down to $299. For Meta, the pitch is simple: glasses are a natural home for AI because they can see and hear from the wearer’s point of view.
The launch also gives Meta more room to expand beyond Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, while keeping EssilorLuxottica close as its eyewear partner.
Meta Glasses Arrive With 26 Styles And Prescription Lens Support
Meta Glasses will launch with three frame styles designed for different looks and use cases.
Meta Adventurer offers a clean rectangular shape and comes in Standard and Large sizes. Meta Fury is positioned as the bolder option, while Meta Glasses by Kylie brings a slim oval frame designed with Kylie Jenner and inspired by her personal style.
Altogether, the lineup includes 26 styles across colors, lenses, and frames. The glasses are also compatible with prescription lenses, which is important if Meta wants these devices to move beyond novelty tech and into everyday eyewear.
Meta Adds Muse Spark AI To Its Smart Glasses From Day One
The biggest change sits inside the frames. Meta Glasses are the company’s first AI glasses to launch with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark from day one.
Muse Spark, introduced recently as the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs built specifically for Meta products, powers a rebuilt Meta AI experience with stronger multimodal capabilities.
That means the glasses are designed to answer questions, understand what the wearer is seeing, suggest local restaurants, follow sports scores, help manage calendars, support habit-building, and assist with daily tasks hands-free.
Meta is also bringing this Muse Spark-powered Meta AI to Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses in the US and Canada.
Meta Glasses Focus On Daily Utility, Privacy, And Battery Life
The glasses include a dedicated action button to summon Meta AI or launch a favorite feature. They also offer open-ear speakers for calls, music, podcasts, and audiobooks without blocking surrounding sound.
An advanced multi-mic array with wind noise reduction is designed to improve calls, messaging, and voice controls. Users can also capture photos and videos hands-free, which Meta is positioning as a way to stay present while still saving the moment.
Meta says the glasses include clear privacy settings and built-in safeguards to respect people nearby. Battery life is rated at over 8 hours, while the foldable charging case adds up to 40 hours of extra battery life.
