Day 4 of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 showcased India’s rising influence in the global AI ecosystem, with major announcements and thought leadership from industry and government leaders.

The session began with PM Narendra Modi reinforcing India’s commitment to ethical and inclusive AI with the launch of the MANAV doctrine, a human-first framework emphasizing ethics, transparency, accountability, and global collaboration. He highlighted the importance of empowering nations in the Global South, ensuring equitable access to AI infrastructure, and promoting skilling and lifelong learning.

Following this, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman spotlighted India’s rapid AI adoption, noting over 100 million weekly ChatGPT users and India’s position as the fastest-growing market for CodeX. He stressed the urgent need for global AI regulation and predicted transformative impacts on the software industry.

OpenAI also broadened its India presence through the “OpenAI for India” initiative, announcing new offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai and a partnership with Tata Group to deploy AI-ready HyperVault data centers and roll out ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI Codex across enterprises.

Next on the agenda, Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum praised India’s innovation and problem-solving mindset, often referred to as “jugaad,” calling the country a hub where solutions to complex global challenges can emerge.

Schneider Electric CEO Praises India’s Innovation And ‘Jugaad’ Mindset


India has always been a proving ground for global companies, with its huge market, diversity, and unique business challenges. At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum made this point very clear.

“You can succeed anywhere if you crack the code in India,” Blum said, highlighting the country’s scale and potential. He called this a turning point. “We are starting a new phase of the planet, a new technology revolution, which is called AI, where India can be the place where a lot of innovation starts with."

Blum also highlighted India’s creativity and problem-solving approach. “The level of innovation I know in India, some people also say 'jugaad' in India. But the level of creativity that you can have in India, yet new system that will solve the most complex problem of the planet can be done in this country,” he added.

Sam Altman Praises India’s AI Progress, Highlights Need For Global Regulation


Artificial intelligence (AI) took centre stage at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where OpenAI CEO Sam Altman delivered one of the most closely followed addresses. Speaking at the summit, Altman praised India’s rapid progress in AI and described it as “incredible to India’s leadership and advanced AI”.

Highlighting India’s importance to OpenAI, Altman said, “One and a hundred million people in India use ChatGPT every week.” He added that India is now the fastest-growing market for CodeX and said the country is well-positioned not just to build AI, but to shape its future.

Altman also stressed the need for regulation, saying the world “urgently” needs to oversee the fast-evolving technology. He further said AI will change the software industry, adding that it “will be bad for some”, while others will adapt with a different value proposition.

OpenAI Deepens India Push With Tata Partnership And New Offices


At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, OpenAI launched “OpenAI for India,” a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening its long-term presence in the country through infrastructure, enterprise AI adoption, and workforce development. The company announced new offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai, expanding beyond its existing base in New Delhi, as India surpasses 100 million weekly ChatGPT users.

A key highlight is OpenAI’s partnership with Tata Group under its global Stargate initiative to build sovereign AI infrastructure in India. OpenAI will become the first customer of TCS’ HyperVault data center business, beginning with 100 megawatts of AI-ready capacity, scalable to 1 gigawatt. The infrastructure will support data residency, security, and reduced latency for Indian users.

On the enterprise front, Tata Group plans to roll out ChatGPT Enterprise across its workforce, starting with hundreds of thousands of TCS employees, alongside adopting OpenAI Codex for AI-native software development.

PM Modi Pushes Ethical, Inclusive AI With ‘MANAV’ Doctrine


At the Mega AI Impact Summit, PM Narendra Modi launched India’s ‘MANAV’ vision for artificial intelligence, positioning it as a human-first framework rooted in ethics, transparency and accountability. 

Describing MANAV as “human” and in Hindi as "the guiding principle for India’s AI journey", he stressed that technology must enhance human capabilities, not replace them, and must operate within strong democratic and ethical guardrails. A central theme of his address was the inclusion of Global South nations in shaping AI governance.

PM Modi cautioned against the concentration of computing power and regulatory influence within a few advanced economies, urging equitable access to AI infrastructure, knowledge and standards. He also highlighted skilling, reskilling and lifelong learning as essential to ensuring AI becomes a force for empowerment. Through MANAV, he positioned India as a voice for responsible, inclusive and value-driven AI development on the global stage.
